Assistant Professor at The New School for Public Engagement; creator of courses such as Girl Innovators, Beyond iCelebrities, Hero(ine)s and The Viral Media Lab. Author of pop culture monograph Maiden USA: Girl Icons Come of Age, Peter Lang Publishers, which is used in media studies curricula nationwide. JANET FLATON, MD
Board-certified pediatrician and specialist, caring for children, teens and adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Founded the multi-disciplinary Flaton ADDept Center in 2009, providing empowerment and personal transformation through a combined holistic/traditional medical approach. Envisions a global program for ADHD children from infancy through secondary school, incorporating exploration, apprenticeships, collaboration, mindfulness training and compassionate discipline in a natural environment.
