The world now supports 10x the stable population that we had for the last 10,000 years, before the Industrial Revolution.  But there was a time when the planet was content with our population....


Having one fewer child actually reduces your carbon footprint 100 times more than even becoming a vegan does.  It's the single biggest contributor to your lifetime carbon emissions (though it all helps)!

80m+ extra people are added to Planet Earth every year. Think about that: 10x the population of New York City, 5.4x the population of Lagos, or 2.5x the population of Delhi, every year.  That's including deaths.


Across nearly all of the Earth’s 846 ecoregions, more than half are badly impacted by our growing footprint.

Since November 2019, 13,844+ scientists co-signed the paper 'World Scientists' Warning of a Climate Emergency,' calling for six major actions, including the stabilization and decrease of global population and a move away from hyper-consumption, if we are to re-stabilize our climate.

270 million women in low- and middle-income countries cannot use modern contraception despite wanting to delay or avoid pregnancy. Global estimates of unintended pregnancy suggest hundreds of millions of women would have smaller families and/or start later if they could access contraception.

In 2020, The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) passed a motion called “Importance for the conservation of nature of removing barriers to rights-based voluntary family planning.”
